Issues concerning the use of non-fiction in fictional contexts is a minefield. It is particularly controversial in film, with many points to consider. The main problem of film portraying non-fiction events is that it can only provide ‘bits of past history without bringing the story up to recent and present time’ and therefore omitting much information about the occurrences before and after the subject matter.
