4. Controversially the film made a 2 star review from The Guardian look like a 4 star endorsement on its poster by strategically placing the stars between the Kray characters’ heads. It did receive 4 star reviews from 9 other newspapers however, and even a couple of 5 star reviews from The Mirror and Sunday Express.
3. A scene in the film depicts Reggie Kray (Tom Hardy) physically abusing wife Frances (Emily Browning), although friends and family of the two dispute that their relationship was ever of such a nature.

Having shared drinks with him at his local pub, the writer / director was surprised to learn that they didn’t have to pay their bar bill, with Freddie giving the simple explanation ‘we don’t pay’.
