​5. In some Spanish speaking countries it was known as ‘Planet of the Apes: Confrontation’, while elsewhere it was called ‘Planet of the Apes: Revolution’.

4. Although not a remake of any particular previous Apes film, it most closely resembles the last one made in the 1970s, ‘Battle for the Planet of the Apes’.

3. Despite the hefty $170 million budget, this is only director Matt Reeves’ 5th ever film. 

2. Gary Oldman plays Dreyfus in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes but had been considered for the role of General Thade in Tim Burton’s 2001 Apes film, a part which eventually went to Tim Roth.

1. Caesar’s partner, Cornelia (played by Judy Greer), was originally to appear in the previous film but got cut out. Back then the part was inhabited by stunt woman Devyn Dalton.
