5. Originally the intention was to call the film ’Chef’, however a Jon Favreau movie already had dibs on the title. For a long time producers were going to name it ‘Adam Jones’ after the main character before finally settling on ‘Burnt’.

4. Actor Jamie Dornan played a minor role which was cut from the film.

3. Grossing only $5 million on its opening weekend meant it was the 4th worst film ever to open to 3000 cinemas. Despite this, within a month of release it had eventually earned back its $20 million budget.

2. Scenes of prepping food had to be done for real, with all the hazards that come with an active kitchen. To add to the pressure of the actors, some of the extras were genuine chefs.

1. In some countries the film was released under the title ‘Super Chef’.
