5 Facts About Peter Medak's 1990 film The Krays starring Martin Kemp

​Based on a true story, the film follows the rise of the Kray twins, brothers who would become legendary for their brutal conduct in the London crime underworld.​

​5. Actor Jon McKenna, who plays Sam Riley also portrays Charles Kray Snr in the 2015 film Legend.

4. Roger Daltrey receives thanks in the film’s credits because he was already planning a movie about the Kray twins when this movie was announced. He agreed to bring his project to an end so as not to over-saturate the limited British movie-going market.

3. Director Peter Medak would go on to helm episodes of popular American TV shows such as The Wire, House M.D., and Breaking Bad.

2. Although he would work in television until 2007, this was the late actor Stephen Lewis’ final film.

1. Upon hearing of the film’s production Reggie Kray suggested to family friend Patsy Kensit that she play the role of his wife Frances, however the actress declined to be involved.
